If you would like to request an absentee ballot sent to you by mail please print, fill out attached absentee ballot request form and mail it to Boone County Auditor's Office, 201 State Street, Boone, IA 50036.  The last day we can mail ballots to you is Friday, November 2, 2012.  If you are a Military or Overseas voter please use this request form.

You may also come to Auditor's Office and request and vote your ballot as soon as ballots are printed any day during office hours which are Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  The office will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m on Saturday October 27, 2012 and November 3, 2012.  The last day to vote absentee is Monday, November 5, 2012.

Any ballot mailed with a postmark of November 5, 2012 will be counted if it arrives before November 12, 2012 by noon. (Please be warned if you are mailing ballot close to the November 5, 2012 deadline, the post office doesn't always postmark mail and if there is no postmark on your return envelope, if it arrives after November 6, 2012 we cannot count it)

If you still have your absentee ballot in your possession on November 6, 2012, you have two options.  1.  You may deliver your voted ballot to Boone County Auditors Office by 9:00 p.m. 2. You may take absentee package sent to you (this must include the ballot sent to you) and surendder it at your polling place.  The poll workers would then issue you a ballot as if you had not requested a ballot.

You may find the polling place you should go to vote on election day and also check it you are registered at address you now live by this link to the Iowa Secretary of State web page

If you discover you are not registered at address where you live and discover that information before October 27, 2012 please complete this voter registration form and be sure it is in the Boone County Auditor's Office before 5:00 p.m. on October 27, 2012.

If you discover the information after 5:00 p.m. October 27, 2012 you have two options.  You may appear in person at Boone County Auditors Office and complete election day voter registration process and vote absentee in auditor's office or appear at the correct polling place for the address where you live and complete process there.  Election Day Registration requires that you be able to prove who you are with a picture ID and where you live with an acceptible form of documentation.
