4-01-12        1:21am  Deputy Fangman checked out a suspicious vehicle at the Cemetery just East of Madrid.  K-9 was requested. Dog alerted prescription drugs were located. Items seized will be examined by the State Lab before any charges are filed. Investigation continuing.

4-02-12        1:46am  Deputy Ruter located an open door at Pazzesco's Pasta and Chop house in West Ames.  Everything checked out OK.  Owner Notified.

4-02-12        2:09am  Deputy Ruter located an open door at Kinzler Construction in the 2300 block of 230th. Key holder notified, checked out OK.

4-02-12        5:49am  Deputy Ruter responded to an incomplete 911 call from the Y-Camp north of Boone.  Everything checked out OK.

4-02-12        11:08am  Deputy Pontius responded to a complaint of a break-in to a storage unit at Keepers Storage in West Ames.  Unit broken into and several items reported stolen, investigation continuing.

4-02-12        5:00pm  Deputy Gray and Boone P.D. received a complaint of a man making threats with a fire arm involved.  Individual was located in the 1100 block of Montana Rd. Weapon was located in a vehicle, male was taken into custody and transported for a mental evaluation to Mary Greeley in Ames.  Charges are pending.

4-03-12        12:57am  Deputy Gray responded to an ambulance assist in the 1500 block of 331st Dr. Madrid.  Boone County Ambulance responded.

4-03-12        1:55am  Deputy Ruter located a storage unit open at West Port Station Storage in West Ames.  Door was secured. Owner could not be notified. Card left in door.

4-03-12        2:17am  Deputy Ruter located an open door at Reflections Glass in the 1300 block of XB Pl. Ames.  Key holder's called 3 in total and no one could be reached, Deputy secured and left card in doors.

4-03-12        10:48am  Reserve Deputies responded to a complaint of missing dogs in the 200 block of 330th St, Perry.  The dogs do have chips and are described as 1 being a german shepard, the other a golden retriever. Owners believe they could have been stolen as this is not like them to run off and not come back.

4-03-12        7:19pm  Deputy Gray arrested a Travis J. Roney 40 of Boone for interference with Official acts on an earlier incident that took place this week. Roney was going to be cited and released but became aggressive and tore up citation. Therefore arrested and placed in the Boone County Jail.

4-03-12        8:46pm  Deputy Gray responded to a domestic situation in the 900 block of 222nd Drive Lot 4.  Male party wanted the female to leave and she would not. Turns out both names are on the lease so they would have to take this up as a civil matter.

4-04-12        12:08am  Deputy Gray stopped a vehicle in the 1100 block of 216th Dr. Ogden. Driver Randall E. Alberts 51 of Ogden was arrested for O.W.I. 1st.  Alberts was NOT arrested for OWI, he was tested for OWI and passed, he just received a speeding ticket after the tests were completed. 

4-04-12        3:11pm  Deputy Zeutenhorst responded to an ambualance assist in the 1600 block of 322 Lane, Madrid. boone County Ambulance and Madrid rescue responded.

4-04-12        3:53pm  Resere Deputy Twigg transported a mental patient from the Boone County Hospital to Mary Greeley in Ames.

4-04-12        5:04pm  Deputy Gray responded to an ambulance assist at the 1200 block of 198th Rd, Boone Ambulance and Rescue responded. Individual refused transport.

4-04-12        10:25pm  Deputy Ruter made a traffic stop in the 900 block of Highway 17. Driver Byong Ho Lee 44 of Omaha Nebraska was charged with driving while License Suspended.

4-05-12        2:15am  Deputy Godzicki responded to a complaint of a piece of farm equipment that had broken down on Highway 30 4.5 miles west of Ogden, blocking two lane of traffic. Farmer was able to get the equipment to the side of the roadway, and change a tire.

4-05-12        3:41pm  Office received a complaint of an out of control grass fire, Woodward Fire responded and was able to get control pretty quickly.

4-05-12        7:39pm  Deputy Zeutenhorst assisted a stalled motorist 2 miles south of Ames on X Ave.

4-05-12        8:04pm  Deputy Gray responded to assist the Boone P.D. with an out of control female in the 100 block of 8th St.  Female did bite the Deputy when he arrived and she was taken to jail for assault on a peace officer. Charges by Boone P.D.

4-05-12        8:49pm Sgt Wingate responded to a complaint of trespassers on the railroad property west of X Ave Crossing north of 220th. Two males were located and warned to stay off the property are be charged with criminal trespass.

4-05-12        11:40pm  Deputy Zeutenhorst responded to the Ledges State Park to assist Sgt Wingate who had located a group of kids in the lower Ledges Individuals had a camp fire and alcohol being consumed. Charged with possession of alcohol under the legal age were the following, Joseph Winchell 19 of Van Meter, Tyler T. Schwery 19 of Early, Robert L. Beier 18 of Pleasantville, Alex T. Fynaardt 18 of New Sharon, Luke L. Baldwin 18 of Dunlap, Emily M. Hunt 19 of Harlan, Timothy J. Grote 19 of Dunlap, Taylor R. Assmann 19 of Panama, and Jordan J. Greiner 19 of Reinbeck.

4-06-12        9:42am  Deputy Godzicki responded to a 3 vehicle accident at the intersection of L Ave and Highway 30.  Driver Jeanette M. Hamil 30 of Boone was north bound on L Ave when she attempted to cross highway, a west bound vehicle operated by Hannah E. Marburger 20 of Perry was clipped in the rear and she was able to escape injury and get stopped just to the west of the Intersection, a second west bound vehicle operated by Dee A. Smith 61 of Jewell Iowa then struck the Hamil vehicle and skidded into the Northwest ditch and ravine into a waterway that was dry.  Smith and her passenger Jeffrey A. Wildt 47 of Jewell had to be cut out of their vehicle by Boone and Ogden Fireman on the scene. Both removed and transported by Boone Ambulance to the Boone County Hospital. Driver Jeannette Hamil was also taken by Boone Ambulance to the Boone County Hospital for treatment as well. Does not appear to be any life threatening injuries from the accident.  Mercy Air Ambulance was called to scene and after the victims were cut from the vehicle left the scene empty. Damages to the vehicle included a 2004 Ford Expedition operated by Hamil a total loss, a 2007 Ford Focus operated by Marburger, about $1,500.00 in damages, and 1997 Buick operated by Smith also a total loss.  Investigation continuing. Assistance at the scene were from Boone Fire, Ogden Fire Ogden P.D., Boone P.D. Boone County Ambulance Boone County EMS, Iowa State Patrol, Mercy Air and the State DOT.

See complaint on 04/04/12 at 12:08am  Randall Alberts 51 of Ogden was not arrested for OWI, only tested and passed tests, received a speeding ticket only.

4-04-12        10:41am  Reserve Deputy Twigg responded to a single vehicle accident in the 400 block of Nature Rd, North of Boone. Brittany L. Kelly 2O of Boone, reported that she had been driving the vehicle, lost control went into the ditch and struck a sign post, then left the area.  After further investigation and talking to witnesses who said that it was a male driver.  It was discovered that the real driver was a Steven L. Snyder 29 of Boone.  Damages to a 2012 Hyundai Elantra were est. at $6,000.00, damages to a guardrail and sign were est. at $1,150.00 belonging to Boone County.  Investigation continuing with charges pending on the false reports. Snyder has been charged with failure to maintain control.  Changed report to Brittany instead of Tffany. Brittany will be charged with giving false information to a peace officer in this investigation. Also a David D. Kelley 41 of Boone will be charged with giving false information to a peace officer in regards to false statements to the actual driver in this investigation.

4-06-12        12:37pm  Deputy Godzicki took a report of a credit card fraud from a rural Ames resident in Boone County.

4-06-12        1:24pm  Deputy Godzicki and Reserve Twigg responded to a panic alarm pushed at the Treasurers office in the Courthouse. Unhappy individual becoming loud, but was no problem when Deputies arrived.

4-07-12        12:16am  Sgt Wingate made a traffic stop at C Ave and 335th St, Perry. Driver Gerald A. Hornsby 47 of Perry was arrested for No Drivers License, possession of Marijuana and meth, possession of drug parapharnilia, Passenger Ryan J. Kinney 37 of Perry was arrested for possession of drug parapharnilia, and open container in a vehicle.

4-07-12        1:02am  Deputy Fangman found an open door at the Door and Fence Store in West Ames. Door was secured.

4-07-12        2:05am  Deputy Fangman made a traffic stop of two suspicious vehicles at 227th and Pulman. Jessica Montoya 16 of Jefferson was cited for minor in possession of alcohol, Devon R. Sands 16 of Jefferson, also charged with minor in possession of alcohol, Two others the same charges were Chelsea Moore 17 of Boone, and Jacob Kirby 19 of Boone possession of alcohol under age. Chelsea Moore and other driver Cristian Paniagua 16 of Jefferson where cited for violation of graduated License. Parents notified.

4-07-12        8:32pm  Deputy Zeutenhorst arrested a Bobbi Jo Harrington 35 of Madrid on a warrant out of Clark County, bond $300.00. Contempt of Court, driving while license suspended.

4-07-12        9:21pm  Sgt Wingate assisted an Ogden Officer with a traffic stop at Walnut and 1st, Ogden.  Drug arrest made by the Ogden Officer.

4-08-12        4:18am  Deputy Fangman responded to a complaint of a vehicle on its top at 230th and K Ave, Driver had left the scene. Deputy attempted to locate through registered address of the owner in Stanhope, no one answered. At about 4:30pm  Owner called to admit that he had been the driver. Deputy met with the owner and arrested Johnathan E. Busing 27 of Stanhope for Open container of alcohol in the vehicle, failure to maintain control, and leaving the scene of a personal injury accident, as he had been injured.  Busing was north bound on K Ave when it turned east bound on 230th at a T Intersection, lost control and rolled his vehicle. He left the scene by calling his mother to pick him up before Officers arrived. Damages to his 1985 Ford  F150 WERE EST. AT $1,500.00.

4-08-12        12:35pm  Deputy Pontius responded to a complaint of property being taken and that it was between a Separated Couple in the 500 block of W Ave Ames.  Deputy spoke to parties and explained that this a Civil Issue.

4-08-12        6:23pm  Deputy Zeutenhorst responded to a complaint of shots fired and one home had been hit and bullet when through the wall at 991 Mink Lane, Boone.  Shooter was located in the 1800 block of west 8th Boone.  Arrested for reckless use of a firearm was James E. Murray Jr. 34 of Boone. No injuries were reported.

4-08-12        7:43pm  Deputy Zeutenhorst and Reserve Twigg responded to a complaint of a juvenile male calling a friend and claiming he was going to commit suicide. Male was located in the 1700 block of I Ave, Ogden. Taken to the Boone County Hospital for evaluation.

4-09-12        10:25am  Chief Deputy Elsberry transported a prisoner to the Curt Forbs halfway house in Ames.

4-09-12        12:12pm  Sgt Kendall assisted a stalled motorist at Highway 30 and S. Story Boone.

4-09-12        1:18pm  Deputy Godzicki responded to a complaint of a trailer that had started on fire on the roadway at P54 and 270th. Perry fire responded. Trailer a total loss.

4-09-12        6:12pm  Deputy Zeutenhorst responded to a complaint that a van had a small fire in the back end of it. Boone Fire responded to 1750 V Ave Madrid.

4-10-12        12:11am  Deputy Fangman assisted the Boone P.D. with a fight call to the 300 block of 2nd St. Boone.

4-10-12        5:31am  Transport officer transported a prisoner to Oakdale was completed at 12:00pm

4-10-12        8:13am  Deputy Pontius responded to a complaint by a parent with a problem with a 13 year old Juvenile in the 300 block of 2nd Ave, Luther.

4-10-12        10:15am  Deputy Pontius responded to an ambulance assist in the 100 block of Franklin St, Woodward State Hospital grounds.

4-10-12        11:00pm  Deputy Pontius responded to a fire alarm sounding at the Ogden Middle School, turned out to be an electrical problem in the Band area of the building. Ogden fire responded. No injuries and very little damages reported.

4-11-12        1:50am  Deputy Ruter responded to a complaint by the Woodward Academy that they had a 15 year old run away from their facility. Area was searched, and Dallas County notified as well for assistance.  Missing is a Shawn C. Hill 15 white male, 5'6" 115 pounds, last wearing Gray T shirt, Blue Sweat pants, no shoes and no coat, has scar on left elbow and forearm.

4-11-12        Shawn Hill the runaway from the Woodward academy voluntarily returned to the Academy on the State grounds at 7:37am.

4-11-12        10:04am  Sgt Kendall took a report from a Larry Bass 65 of Boone that his vehicle had been struck by debris or materials that had fallen off a west bound truck on Highway 30 in the Erickson curves, East of Boone. His vehicle a 1996 Oldsmobile sustained over $2,000.00 in damages.  Bass was able to obtain that the offending truck was taking loads to the Wal-Mart site in Boone. PCI Will have an adjuster take care of the expenses in this incident.

4-12-12        7:06am  Deputy Godzicki responded to a complaint of a vehicle that in a ravine on the Woodard grounds. Woodward P.D. Responded as this is now in the Woodward City Limits. Assist other agency.

4-12-12        5:58pm  Deputy Gray took a complaint in the 2300 block of Nectar, Woodward, of harassing text massaging being received at this location and originating out of Bagley. investigation continuing.

4-13-12        6:45am  Deputy Pontius located an stalled vehicle on the roadway on 190th 1/2 mile east of V Ave. Owner of the vehicle notified to move.

4-13-12        11:04am  Sgt Kendall arrested a Michael Disbrowe 24 of Boone on a Boone County Warrant, bond $500.00.

4-13-12        5:53pm  Deputy Gray investigated a single vehicle accident on Highway 30 Eastbound lanes at mile marker 143. Driver Arthur D. Parker 59 of Lohrville Iowa, struck a square bale of hay on the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damages were est. at $1,500.00 to a 2005 Dodge Van.

4-13-12        7:34pm  Deputy Gray responded to a medical assist in the 800 block of S. Division St, Boone. Boone Ambulance responded.

4-13-12        11:04pm  Deputy Ruter responded to a complaint of a vehicle in the ditch at 195th and X Ave. No damages or injuries were reported. Driver Stacey A. Willis 25 of Ames was cited for failure to maintain control.

4-13-12        11:39pm  Deputy Gray made a traffic stop in the 2200 block of 195th. Driver Rachael E. Meyer 22 of Gilbert was cited for possession of drug parapharnilia, passenger Marcus P. Hemphill 18 of Jewell was cited for possession of alcohol under the legal age.

4-14-12        12:39am  Deputy Gray responded to a complaint of a fire close to a building in the Lower Ledges. was a controlled burn by the DNR.

4-14-12        3:28am  Deputy Ruter responded to an ambulance assist in the 700 block of 310th, Ogden. Boone County Ambulance responded.

4-14-12        6:08am  Deputy Ruter investigated a car-deer accident in the 2000 block of L Ave, Boone. Driver Karla D. Snyder 50 of Boone struck a deer in the roadway. No injuries were reported, damages were est. at $1,500.00 to a 2005 Chevy.

4-14-12        4:20pm  Deputy Godzicki responded to a domestic situation in the 2300 block of K Ave, Woodward. Was a dispute between adult brothers, both parties spoken to and situation under control for now.

4-15-12        10:28am  Deputy Godzicki assisted a stalled motorist on Highway 30 near L Ave, Ogden. Gave the driver a ride.

4-15-12        1:11pm  Deputy Godzicki responded to an alarm sounding at the Mallon Excavating Co. in the 2100 block of Y Ave, Slater. False alarm. Key holder was difficult to locate.

4-15-12        6:17pm  Deputy Zeutenhorst responded to a complaint of a tree blown over in the 1200 block of 198th Rd, Boone. County road Crew notified, as tree was over roadway and in Power lines.

4-15-12        8:02pm  Deputy Zeutenhorst responded to a 2 vehicle accident at T Ave and 190th, Boone. James M. Bass 41 of Ames was east bound on 190th when he ran the stop sign and struck a north bound vehicle operated by Gary A. Moeller 66 of Boone. The Moeller vehicle then spun into a utility pole. Injured were Moeller and his passenger Nancy Moeller 58 of Boone, and Bass and his passengers Heather Bass 36 of Ames, and Noah Bass 6 of Ames. Heather Bass was airlifted to Mercy in Des Moines, all others were transported to the Boone County Hospital by Boone Ambulances. Boone Fire was also on the scene. James Bass was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign.

4-15-12        10:07pm  Deputy Zeutenhorst had a male flag him down at 11th and Marshall in Boone, he said that he needed help, individual was taken to the Boone County Hospital for evaluation, he was later released.

4-15-12        10:42pm  Deputy Fangman was flagged down a female in Beaver who wanted to report a vandalism to a home at 108 1st St. Beaver. Window had been broken out the night before. Report taken.

4-16-12        8:25am  Transport Officer responded to Mary Greeley in Ames to transport a mental patient to Court, was returned to Mary Greeley after hearing. Completed at Noon.

4-16-12        10:46am  Deputy Godzicki responded to a complaint of a vehicle that ran off the roadway on Highway 30 just east of Highway 17.  No damages were reported. Vehicle that left the scene was located in Nevada By Nevada P.D. Deputy will send letter to DOT to ask for re-exam of operator who caused the accident and continued on his way.

4-16-12        10:58am  Deputy Godzicki began an investigation of the theft of copper from a Construction trailer in the 1200 block of I Ave, Boone. Investigation continuing.

4-16-12        2:17pm  Deputy Godzicki and Chief Deputy Elsberry responded to a personal injury accident at E16 and X Ave, Boone.  Alicia J. VanCannon 47 of Cambridge Iowa was west bound on 190th when she approached a slow moving moped going in the same direction, she did not slow in time and struck the moped in the rear, throwing the driver of the moped onto the hood of her vehicle and windshield. VanCannon was not injured. The Moped operator Matthew J. Tuohy 19 of Boone was taken by Boone Ambulance to the Boone County Hospital for treatment of his injuries. appears no life threatening injuries. Damages were est. at $1,500.00 to VanCannon's 1989 Accura, and $300.00 to the 1986 Honda Moped. Van Cannon was cited for failure to reduce speed, and Tuohy will be charged with no insurance.

4-16-12        6:54pm  911 received a fire alarm call in the 700 block of Monarch Dr. Boone Fire dispatched, Boone Officer first on scene and reported no fire, just burnt food triggered the alarm, all OK.

4-17-12        7:23am  Deputy Godzicki responded to an incomplete 911 from a residence in the 1200 block of Jade Place Ogden. Turned out to be a mis-dial, everything checked out OK.

4-17-12        10:35am Deputy Godzicki took a report from a Boone County resident that had received a letter from the IRS about a problem with his tax return. Complainant had not yet filed, IRS believes that some one had filed with his SS Number fraudulently.

4-17-12        10:49am  Deputy Godzicki and Chief Deputy Elsberry responded to a car fire at Highway 30 and 300th, just north of Madrid. Madrid Fire and Woodward fire responded. No injuries were reported. The 1993 Lincoln was a loss and owned by Vicky A. Morgan 50 of Boone.

4-17-12        10:50am  Sheriff Fehr took a report from a Small Business owner in the 1400 block of V Ave, Boone. Owner of Auto repair business reported an $800.00 bad check received from an Ames Business. Investigation continuing.

4-17-12        11:23pm  Deputy Fangman responded to a complaint of a vehicle possibly stuck in the area of 1700 block of MAgnolia Rd, Boone. Deputy located the vehicle an operator in the vehicle Cody R. Clegg 22 of Madrid was arrested for OWI 1st Offense.

4-18-12        1:48pm  Buchanan County Sheriff's Office reported that they had arrested a person wanted on a Boone County Warrant. Transport Officer responded and brought back a Tanya M. Helmrichs 32 formerly of Boone, warrant for Delivery of Meth, Bond $20,000.00.

4-18-12        2:58pm  Deputy Transported a mental Patient from the Boone ER to Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames.

4-18-12        5:38pm  Deputy Zeutenhorst responded to Madrid after a complaint of a Domestic situation reported from another family member from Fort Dodge. Suspect located by Deputy and handed over to the Madrid Officer.

4-18-12        6:32pm  Deputy  Zeutenhorst responded to Beaver to do a welfare check in the 200 block of East 2nd St. Everything was OK.

4-18-12        7:22PM  Deputy Zeutenhorst responded to Ogden to assist the Ogden Officer with a complaint of a Male Exposing himself near the Grocery Store on Main St. 16 year old boy located and it was just the way he was wearing his pants, way too low.

4-19-12        6:30am  Deputy Fangman responded to a complaint of horses on E18 near Pilot Mound. horses were located and in a pasture when the Deputy arrived.

4-19-12        4:46pm  Deputy Gray responded to an ambulance assist in the 1000 block of 188th Rd, Boone. Boone Ambulance responded.

4-19-12        6:20pm  Sgt Wingate arrested a Catherine J. Neys 30 of Madrid on a Warrant out of Story County. Arrest made in the 100 block of E. 9th Madrid. bond $2,000.00.

4-19-12        7:39pm  Jody Zander 36 of Madrid turned herself into the Sheriff's Office on a Boone County warrant for unlawful possession of prescription drugs, bond $1,000.00.

4-20-12        10:12am  Chief Deputy Elsberry responded to a complaint of a shredded tire on the roadway on Highway 30 in the West bound lanes, West of Highway 17. Tire removed.

4-20-12        10:15am  Deputy Pontius responded to a complaint of a trailer broken into at Syngenta Seeds in the 2300 block of 330th. Reported a ladder missing, no copper was in the trailer.

4-20-12        10:07pm  Deputy Ruter responded to a complaint of a 4 wheeler that had started on fire in the 2200 block of Magnolia Rd.  Woodward Fire responded. No one was injured. The polaris 4 wheeler was a total loss. The operator Stephanie Potter 33 of Woodward was cited for operating the 4 wheeler on the roadway, no registration.

4-21-12        12:56am  Deputy Ruter responded to a complaint of a white pick-up that had just gone into the ditch on Highway 17 in Luther. Complainant saw the operator get out of the truck. Driver Mark M. Morken 42 of Boone was north bound on 17 when he lost control and rolled his vehicle into the west ditch. Damages were est. at $3,500.00 to a 1999 Nissan Pick-up. Morken was arrested for OWI 1st Offense, and failure to maintain control. No injuries were reported.

4-21-12        1:51am  Gray made a traffic stop at Highway 169 and 300th. Driver Justin J. Torres 19 of Perry was charged with a .02 violation, under age possession of alcohol, possession of drug parapharnilia, and open container and speeding. passengers Jordan Swain 18 of Perry, Jacob M. Kruger 19 of Perry and Allison Klabel 19 of Perry all were cited for under possession of Alcohol.

4-21-12        11:26am  Deputy Pontius responded to an alarm sounding at Roto Rooter in the 2200 block of 229th Place, Ames. Was a false alarm.

4-21-12        1:09pm  Deputy Pontius responded to a complaint of a dog attacking chickens in the 900 block of 320th St, Woodward. Owner of the chickens shot the Boxer type dog on his property. Owner of the dog not located at this time. Humane Society called as well for this incident.  Investigation continuing.

4-21-12        7:02pm  Sgt. Wingate responded to a an argument about horses and kids in the 1000 block of 170th St, Boone. Arrested at the scene was a Audrey E. Hunter 37 of Boone for disorderly conduct.

4-22-12        7:15am  Deputy Pontius responded to the Don Williams Golf Course on a complaint of a break in to the Club House.  Nothing reported missing.

4-22-12        7:34am  Deputy Pontius responded to the Honey Creek Golf course. reported that the Club house had been broken into, Gold carts were vandalized, investigation continuing.

4-22-12        2:48pm  Deputy Pontius responded to a complaint of a piece of plywood on the roadway on Highway 30 west bound lanes, near the Ericson curves. Plywood removed.

4-22-12          3:00pm  Deputy Pontius investigated a two vehicle accident 2 miles North of Perry on Highway144. John R. Finneseth 77 of Jefferson west bound on 144 when another vehicle on Clover failed to stop at the stop and ran into the Finneseth vehicle. Second vehicle operated by Omar D. Marquez 16 of Perry. Kay Finneseth 74 of Jefferson was transported by Dallas County Ambulance to Iowa Methodist in Des Moines, also injured was a passenger in the Marquez's vehicle Page Peitzman 12 of Granger was taken by Dallas County ambulance to Mercy in Des Moines, she was ejected from the Marquez vehicle. Damages were est. at $8,000.00 to Fennseth's 2001 Pontiac, and $5,000.00 to Marquez's 1999 Chevy. Marquez was cited for failure to maintain.

4-22-12        9:20pm  Deputy Ruter investigated a car deer accident on Highway near the Story County  line. Driver Lisa L. Savits 40 of Ogden struck a deer in the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damages were est. at $5,000.00 to a 2007 Chevy. Correction the operator was Leah M. Savits 19 of Ogden.

4-22-12        11:01pm  Sgt Wingate located several vehicles that were mudding through on the Lower Ledges State Grounds. A Justin Anderson 18 of Omaha Nebraska was cited for driving in prohibited areas. The Following were cited for for being in the State Park after hours.  Closed park violation Cameron M. 4-23-12        8:18am  Nicholas S. Thompson 22 of Jackson MN. turned himself into the Sheriff's Office on a Boone County Warrant, bond $5000.00 probation revocation.

4-23-12        12:33pm  Deputy Godzicki investigated a two vehicle accident at Highway 17 and 290th. Helen F. Jagerson 91 of Madrid was north bound on 17 slowing to turn onto 290th, when she was struck from behind by another North bound vehicle operated by Rachel M. Sprengeler 22 of Boone. No one was injured. Damages were est. at $5,000.00 to Sprengeler's 2005 Escape and $6,000.00 to Jagerson's 2003 Impala. Sprengeler was cited for failure to reduce speed in a safe a assured distance.

4-24-12        12:08am  Deputy Gray made a traffic stop in the 300 block of Story St. Passenger Robert A. Harris 47 of Davenport Iowa was arrested on a warrant out of Linn County Iowa, No bond to serve time for assault on a peace officer.

4-24-12        2:31pm  Deputy Godzicki began an investigation of fraud. In this scam the caller claimed to be with publishers clearing house and told the Boone County resident in the 1500 block of 331st, St. Madrid, that he had won $500,000.00 plus a new BMW. To claim the prize he needed to pay for Taxes, processing fees attorney fees, ect.  To pay the requested MoneyPak payment methods. The Victim did start to pay the installments through Moneypak, then realized this may be scam.  MoneyPak cards were stopped, but approximately $1000.00 had already been paid.  Appears the money went out of the Country.  This is a reminder to all, that these scams come in many forms, but for the most part they require up front payments, this should be a red flag, if you truly won there would be no prepayment arrangements and so secretly through mailings or paycards. Also do not give out financial information. Be cautious ask questions, get Law Enforcement involved before you send any money.

4-24-12        10:11pm  Deputy Zeutenhorst investigated a car deer accident in the 600 block of Highway 30. Driver Elise S. Murchison 61 of Harcourt Iowa was west bound when she struck a deer int he roadway. No injuries were reported. Damages were est. at $5,000.00 to a 2005 Chevy.

4-25-12        9:07am  Deputy Godzicki began an investigation of a school bus violation involving a United Comm School bus on S Ave.  Description of vehicle was obtained, suspect possibly lives in Des Moines. Des Moines P.D. has attempted to make contact with suspect. Investigation continuing.

4-25-12        12:51pm  Deputy Godzicki responded to the County line to pick-up a prisoner arrested by Ames P.D on a Boone County warrant. Arrested and transported to the Boone County Jail, was Larry D. Warren 41 of Boone, Warrant harrassment 3rd bond $500.00.

4-25-12        8:39pm  Deputy Zeutenhorst responded to a complaint of fire causing smoke and filling the complainants home with smoke in the area of the 400 block of 120th St, Pilot Mound. Deputy spoke to the neighbor burning to get the fire out.

4-25-12        10:07pm  Deputy Fangman responded to complaint of suspicious activity at AB Salvage in the 900 block of Quartz.  Suspicious vehicle located and door found open, male suspect found crouching behind tires.  Arrested was a Aaron R. Maben 19 of Boone. Charged at this time with Trespassing, investigation continuing.

4-26-12        Deputy Godzicki cited a Michael R. Stowe 42 of Des Moines for unlawful passing a United Comm. School bus in the 1100 block of S Ave. Incident took place 4/25/12 AM.

4-26-12        6:59pm Sgt. Wingate responded to a complaint of a dispute over trees being cut down in the 1400 block of 325th, Woodward.  Dispute over the trees and property lines, Deputy spoke to both parties that this would be a civil issue. They stopped cutting trees for now.

4-27-12        2:39am  Sgt. Wingate and Deputy Zeutenhorst responded to an alarm sounding at the Security Savings Bank in Boxholm, Webster County had a Deputy come in from the North. Building secured and Key holder on site, false alarm.

4-27-12        5:50am  Security Savings Bank in Boxholm alarm sounding again. Deputies arrived and another false alarm.  Building secure.

4-27-12        12:32pm  Deputy Godzicki took a report of license plates from a 1991 GMC pick-up in Rural Ogden. Taken sometime between April 15th and the 21st.

4-27-12        11:15pm  Sgt. Wingate responded to a complaint of a Semi in a ditch on 210th St, 2 miles East of Highway 17. Driver Clarence Amburgey 61 of Indianapolis Indiana had slid his trailer into the ditch on 210th. No damages or injuries were reported. Although Amburgey was wanted on a warrant out of Florida, Florida would not extradite, so he was released. Warrant was for an OWI.

4-28-12        1:05pm Madrid Officer requested assistance on a welfare check in the 400 block of State St, Deputy Pontius responded, everything checked out OK.

4-28-12        4:28pm  Deputy Pontius responded to a domestic situation in the 300 block of 335th, Perry. No injuries or assault had taken place parties were separated, male went to a different home for the evening.

4-29-12        2:46pm  Deputy Pontius assisted the Boone P.D. with a personal injury 2 vehicle accident at the intersection of Highway 30 and Quill Ave.

4-29-12        6:21pm  Deputy Gray responded to a complaint of a possible scam involving a pavement co.  Woman advised that the Contractor had told her he had left over paving material and wanted to known if she wanted her driveway paved for $850.00, she agreed to do this, when completed he asked for $5040.00. This took place in the 1400 block of Oriole Rd, Boone

4-29-12        7:50pm  Deputy Gray responded to a complaint of a suspicious male going door to door in the area of the 1000 block of Maize,Boone inquiring about an orphanage and seemed very nervous.

4-29-12        10:06pm  Deputy Gray responded to a domestic situation in the 1100 block of 233rd St, Boone. Was a dispute between Mother and Daughter, was a civil matter at this time.

4-30-12        3:07pm  Deputy Pontius responded to a complaint of a domestic situation between brother in laws in the 2000 block of K Ave. No arrests made.

4-30-12        11:52am  Deputy Ruter located an open door at the Napier Methodist Church. Everything secure and locked.
