Nelson taken to the Boone County Hospital. Charges are pending for failure to maintain control open container and stop sign violation, also lab results are pending. Damages were est at $5,000.00 to a 2000 Buick.

6-03-12 9:53pm Comm Center dispatched County Conservation Officer Weidt to a a bicycle accident near QF Lane on the bike trail. Bicyclist was injured with dislocated shoulder and Boone County Ambulance responded. This was a bike only accident, no vehicle involved.
6-04-12 5:26pm Deputy Ruter responded to a vehicle in the ditch in the 1400 block of 155th, Boone. Driver Blake W. Phipps 26 of Boone lost control and put his vehicle into the ditch onto its side. No injuries were reported. Phipps was cited for failure to maintain control. The vehicle a 2004 ford received $6,000.00 in damages.

Grillo 64 of Boone was pulling a utility trailer loaded with a bobcat east bound, the axle of the pick-up broke causing the unit to jack knife. No injuries were reported. Damages were est. at $5,000.00.
6-05-12 1:05pm Deputy Pontius responded to a complaint of a vehicle that had slid into the ditch, near the Y Camp, 1100 block of 166th Dr. Driver Marta M. Hoffman 20 of Altoona had slid off the roadway and hanging on the side of a steep ravine. Driver was removed from the vehicle with no injures and vehicle pulled out by tow operator. No damages were reported to the vehicle.

Evens 40 of Boone, was north bound on 17 when he stopped at the stop sign on old 30 [210th], the vehicle behind him did not stop and struck him in the rear, second vehicle operated by Alexander M. Derry 21 of Boone. No injuries were reported. Damages were est. at $4,000.00 to Derry's 2001 Plymouth, and $5,000.00 to Evan's 2009 Hyundai. Derry was cited for failure to stop within assured clear distance.

6-09-12 10:28pm Woodward P.D. reported two bicyclists that had ran into each other and drunk on the bike trail took off and had ran into some woods in Boone County. Sgt Wingate located the two arrested them for Public Intoxication. Arrested was Timothy A. Bork 21 of Ames and Joseph P. OBrian 36 of Ames.
6-09-12 11:59pm Deputy Zeutenhorst made a traffic stop at Highway 30 and 17. Driver Devin L. Parker 23 of Panora was charged with multiple suspensions for failure to pay other traffic offense fines.
6-10-12 1:28am Conservation Officer near the Ledges reported a vehicle had just left the Ledges State Park north bound on Oriole Rd, observed what he thought was alcohol in the vehicle. Vehicle was stopped by Sgt Wingate. Charged with open containers in the vehicle were Eric Short 24 of Ames, Samual Lanam 24 of Humboldt, and Andrew Kosky 19 of Storm Lake, Kosky was also cited for under age possession of alcohol.

6-11-12 2:57pm Deputy Godzicki investigated a two vehicle accident on Kenezivich St, in Boone. Austin Gray 15 of Story City was moving a Semi after a City Employee ordered that they had trucks blocking the area on the street. A City Patrol unit was parked along the roadway because of the complaint and was struck by the backing Semi and trailer. The 1999 Freitliner received no damages, the 2010 Jeep Cherokee patrol unit received $4000.00 in damages. Charges pending on Gray. No injuries reported.
6-11-12 5:32pm Deputy Zeutenhorst spoke to family members of an issue of accusations of theft between spouses and personal accounts. Individuals were told that this would be a civil issue and speak to an attorney. Took place in Woodward area of Southern Boone County.

This area has been annexed by the City of Woodward, so Boone County assisted. A short time later Woodward received a complaint of a stolen vehicle from a residence in Woodward.

6-16-12 4:14am Deputy Spencer responded to a complaint of two individuals walking about a 1/2 mile apart from each other on E18 east of Pilot Mound. Deputy located the parties. Was a married couple having an argument, situation seems to have resolved.
6-16-12 9:33am Deputy Pontius assisted a stalled motorist with a flat tire 2 miles south of Ogden on G Ave.
6-16-12 3:12pm Deputy Godzicki and Pontius responded to a personal injury accident on Highway 30 and Noble Hills. Stretch Limo and SUV collided in that area. Wedding Party in the Limo and 3 people in the SUV. Numerous persons were injured requiring Life flight and Several Boone Ambulance trips. No one in the Limo was killed, one person from the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene. Another from the SUV was air lifted and died later. State Patrol will complete the report. Assistance at the accident scene included Boone P.D. Boone County Ambulances, and the State Patrol.

Erickson 53 of Woodward was north bound on L Ave when he lost control went through a ditch and struck a utility pole on the east side of the roadway. Erickson was taken by Ambulance to Mercy in Des Moines. Damages were est. at $4,500.00 to a 2004 Ford Taurus. $1,500.00 to the Alliant utility pole.

6-19-12 4:39am Drug Task Force and SRT executed a search warrant at 140th and I Ave, Pilot Mound. This was a remote area with trailer home with no electric. Arrested was Jerrad J. Fisher 36 of Perry. Charged with Tax Stamp violation and manufacturing marijuana. Marijuana plants were seized out side the home and also marijuana was seized inside the trailer.

6-19-12 8:35pm Sheriff's Office received message from Wapello County Sheriff's office arrested a James M. Hofmeyer 41 of Fort Dodge on a Boone County warrant, Bond $1,500.00. Transport arrangements were made for the following morning. A couple hours later Hofmeyer had bonded out.
6-20-12 6:32am Deputy Fangman responded to a complaint of a person intoxicated and threatening suicide in the 700 block of Marigold Lane, Boone. Male party was taken into custody and transported to the Boone County Hospital for evaluation. Later transported to Mary Greely in Ames. Completed around 2pm

McCoy 57 of Laneboro IA. was west bound on 120th when he was struck broadside by a north bound vehicle operated by Aerial L. Hess 19 of Dana. Hess failed to yield right of way at the uncontrolled intersection. Both were taken to the Boone County Hospital by Boone County Ambulances with injuries. Damages were est. at $4,000.00 to Hess's 1999 Dodge, and $6,000.00 to McCoy's Freightliner truck.
6-21-12 2:19pm Deputy Hoffman took a mental into custody in the 500 block of Division, Boone. Individual was taken to the Boone County Hospital for evaluation, later transported to the Veterans Hospital in Des Moines.
6-21-12 3:06pm Transport Officer responded to the Story County Jail to pick-up a prisoner that was being released on their charges and still wanted on Boone County charges. Transported was Todd A. Hazelwood 44 probation revocation no bond.

6-23-2012 1:16 a.m. Deputy Gray responded to the Ledges State park for a complaint of people being loud in the camp grounds. Gray arrested the following: Michelle Riesberg, 41 of Gilbert- possession of marijuana; Chad Parrish, 20 of Gilbert- possession of marijuana, paraphernalia and possession of alcohol; MindySue Hollister, 31 of Des Moines for possession of marijuana and paraphernailia;Ryan Robinson, 25 of Boone for possession of marijuana, paraphernalia and possession of a dangerous weapon.
06-24-2012 9:15 am Deputy Pontius responded to X Ave and 270th for a two vehicle accident. A vehicle, driven by Mollie Southworth,19 of Boone was Southbound on X Ave and failed to yield at a stop sign causing a second vehicle, driven by Scott Turczynski, 41 of Elkhart to strike Southworth's vehicle within the intersection. Injuries were reported for occupants of both vehicles. Approximately $48,000 in total damage. Southworth was cited.
06-25-2012 11:15 am Deputy Godzicki responded to the 500 block of 200th for a single vehicle accident. Marissa Elsberry, 17 was cited for fail to maintain control after she lost control of her vehicle and entered a ditch. No injuries and approximately $2000 in damages.
06-25-2012 11:38 am Roger Breed, 63 of Madrid reported some criminal mischief damage at his residence within the city of Madrid. Officer Millsap of Madrid forwarded the complaint to Deputy Pontius to take care of. Deputy Pontius took care of the complaint.
06-26-2012 2:48 am Deputy Fangman observed a vehicle at the waterworks. Upon investigation, Fangman cited Bailey Craven, 20 of Stratford for possession of alcohol underage.
06-27-2012 6:59 am Deputy Fangman responded to U Ave and 210th Union Pacific crossing for criminal trespass and vandalism. Union Pacific complained of a golf cart being placed on the tracks and the train striking the cart. Witnesses state a vehicle was seen in the area. Investigation is continuing.
06-29-2012 1:15 am Deputies Fangman and McCormick were responding to a call in West Ames when a deer ran into their path. Damages to the patrol car are estimated at $3000. A complaint of injury was reported by both occupants.

6-29-12 9:48am Deputy Godzicki responded to a complaint of a dispute over newly planted trees that were cut down in the area of the 2300 block of Owl Ln, Madrid. This is a disputed property line that will need to be addressed in Civil Court.

6-30-12 11:50am Sgt Wingate investigated a car vs train at Key Lane Crossing NW of Boone. Clyde A. Joseph 25 of Boone was crossing the Union Pacific Rail road tracks on Key lane when he was struck by an East bound Union Pacific Train. Joseph died of injuries. His 1999 Dodge Durango was a total loss. Investigation continuing.
6-30-12 6:51pm Deputy Ellison responded to a complaint of a theft of a 4x4 harrow section taken from his residence in the 1300 block of Nook Place. Investigation continuing.
