8-1-2013 9:59 AM. Deputy Pontius began an investigation into fraudulent charges on a credit card.
8-1-2013 4:49 PM. A person called from the Community and Family resource center and wanted the BCSO to check the welfare of a client whom they thought may have overdosed on alcohol or drugs. Deputy Fangman and the Boone County Ambulance responded to the 200 blk of Nature Road. The person was located and taken to the BCH to be checked out.
8-1-2013 6:06 PM. Deputy Fangman began an investigation into a trailer theft in Boxholm. The trailer was stolen from the 400 blk of 2nd st. during the day, and is used to haul a lawn mower.
8-1-2013 11:20 PM. The Greeene County SHeriff called and requested assistance from the BCSO and the BPD in searching and checking certain areas of the county and city for a missing juvenile. BPD checked several areas in the city, and the BCSO checked several locations in the county but were unable to locate the individual.
8-1-2013 8:58 AM. The BCSO would like to make a correction in the press release that was dated on July 21st 2013 at 12:23 AM. Chris Burdess was the caller who REPORTED the incident and WAS NOT arrested. The BCSO would like to apologize for the mistake in the press release.
8-4-2013 12:00 AM. A person called to repor that his girlfriend was the driver of a car involved in an accident in the 2300 blkof QW lane. No injuries were reported but there was extensive damamge to the vehicle and a pole. The driver of the vehicle Cassie Moran of Madrid was checked for possible OWI and transported for testing to the BCJ.
8-4-2013 12:26 AM. A person called to report a vehicle on it's top at R ave and 200th st. but could not verify if anyone was in or around the vehicle. Deputy Fangman and Quinn responded. The driver was later identified as Luke Blakeman of Perry. He was not injured but was cited for failure to maintain control, minor in possession, and an .02 violation.
8-4-2013 4:36 AM. A person called to report that her son texted her and said that he had slit his wrist. Sgt Wingate and Deputy Quinn arrived at the residence and located the individual who was not injured, but convinced the individual to go to the hospital to be checked out.
8-4-2013 6:21 AM. A person called to report a vehicle in the ditch with ejection in the 300 blk of 130th st. Sgt. Wingate and Deputy Pontius along with Boxholm Fire and the Ogden First Repsonder all went enroute. Upon futher investigation the accident was a fatality. The driver of the vehicle was Wayne Merriam of Ogden was killed in the accident. The investigation is continuing.
8-4-2013 5:44 PM. A person called to report that a man and a woman were beating each other up in the 500 blk of 2nd street in Pilot Mound. Deputy Fangman and Deputy Zuetenhorst responded. Both parties were located and both advised this was a verbal altercation only.
8-4-2013 8:44 PM. A person called to report that two bicycle riders were dow near the High Trestle Trail Bridge. The caller said they were fine but with some minor head injuries. An ambulance was sent to the scene to check on the injuries along with Deputy Zuetenhorst and Quinn. After a breif investigation and an examination by ambulance personel two riders; Scott Tomer and Mary Hillman were charged with public intoxication and transported to the BCJ.
8-4-2013 8:58 PM. The park officer at Don Williams recreation area requested assistance with an OWI at the park entrance. Deputy Fangman responded and after a breif investigation arrested Jeff Nation for investigatin into OWI. He was transported to the BCJ for futher testing.
8-4-2013 1:29 AM. The Bettendorf Police Department called to check on the warrant status for Denise Santiago. Boone County has a vallid warrant for her arrest. She is being held on charges from their department. they will advise when they are fininshed with her.
8-5-2013 7:46 AM. A person called to repor that he was involved in an accident in the 2200 blk of 220th st. Deputy Godzicki was advised an responded. A car driven by John Reinhart backed out of a farm driveway and was struck by a car driven by Jeffery Bailey. Reinhart was charged with failure to yeild.
8-5-2013 8:23 AM. A person called from the 2000 blk of 220th st. to report that his maibox was damaged overnight.
8-5-2013 2:39 PM. A person called from the 900 blk of 157th to report that his residence was broken into sometime over the weekend. Deputy Godzicki was adised and responded.
8-5-2013 5:59 PM. The Story County Sheirff's office called and advised of a hitch hiker on the county line on Lincolnway. The BCSO also received a call that a person in the same area had entered the storage facility in that same area. Deputy Zuetenhorst located the individual. The individual was checked out and given a ride to the Greene County Line.
8-5-2013 8:52 PM. Ames PD called and advised they had Kody Anderson in custody on our warrant and would like to meet a deputy at UC school. Deputy Zuetenhorst transported Anderson to the BCJ.
8-6-2013 9:50 AM. Deputy Twigg made an arrest on an outstanding warrant for Kenneth Colebank for failure to appear.
8-6-2013 1:25 PM. All officers in Boone County were alerted to watch for a vehicle and person who had made suicidel threats and may be going to Boone County from Story County.
8-6-2013 4:09 PM. Ames PD contacted the BCSO to check a persons welfare in the 1200 blk of XE Pl. According to Ames PD the individual had been making suicidel threats by cell phone and she was concerned for his welfare. Ames called back later and advised they had located the individual.
8-6-2013 5:21 PM. A person called to report a vehicle all over the road and doing a poor job of driving. The vehicle was N/B on 169 from 290th. Deputy Zuetenhorst was out of position but Officer Spencer from the Ogden Police Department was able to stop the vehicle in Ogden. It was later determined the driver was looking at a map and was not intoxicated.
8-6-2013 7:02 PM. Deputy Zuetenhorst arrested Kyle Kirkman on a warrant for failure to appear for probation revocation. Kirkman was taken to the BCJ.
8-6-2013 8:15 PM. Deputies from the BCSO responded to a complaint from a neighbor of a domestic next to her in Pilot Mound. After a brief investigation it was determined that the altercation was not physical. The investigation is continuing into other leads developed by the BCSO, and charges are pending.
8-6-2013 11:23 PM. Deputy Zuetenhorst began an investigation into a complaint of an individual attempting to hit another with a car in Pilot Mound.
8-7-2013 7:22 AM. Sheriff Elsberry began an investigation into a theft of personel documents from the 200blk of 1st in Ogden.
8-7-2013 11:07 AM. Robert Casky was taken into custody on a warrant from Boone County.
8-7-2013 8:33 PM. The Granger Police Department arrested Joesph Gunderson on a warrant from Boone County.
8-7-2013 9:51 PM. A person called to report a male walking on US 30 East of the river bridge only wearing a towel. Deputy Gray checked on the location and found the individual, checked him out and gave him a ride to the BCSO for further investigation.
8-7-2013 9:54 PM. The BCCSO received a report of a vehicle Eastbound in the Westbound lanes of US 30 at Airport Road. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.
8-7-2013 8:50 PM. The BCSO received a call of an accident with injuries in the 1000 blk of US 30. According to the investigating officer, the driver observed some debris from a tire in the roadway and swerved to miss the debris and lost control and went into the ditch. The driver and the passenger were transported to the Boone County Hospital. Their condition is unknown .
8-8-2013 7:54 PM. Cedar Rapids Police called the BCSO to report they have Kurtis Moore in custody on our warrant. He was picked up by the BCSO and relayed back to Boone.
8-8-2013 6:41 A person called to report that his father left for work at 5 AM annd has not been heard from since. Deputies began an investigation into the incident and eventually located the missing person.
8-8-2013 6:26 PM. A person called to report that his vehicle was stolen from US 30 and 169 park and ride. After a breif investigation into the incident, it was discovered the truck had not been transferred to the new owner, and the previous owner got the truck back. This will be a civil issue.
8-8-2013 2:11 PM. A person called to report a theft from her residence in the 800 blk of 310th. Some jewelery was missing along with some clothing. Deputy Godzicki began an investigation.
8-10-2013 9:15 PM. The BCSO took a report of mailbox vandelisum in the 100 blk of 150th ave. Three mailboxes were damaged.
8-10-2013 10:18 PM. A person called to report that her trailer was broke i nto and several items were missing. Deputy Fangman began an investigation into the incident.
8-10-2013 11:20 PM. The Story County Sheriff's Office called and asked for assistance with an underage drinking party in their county. Deputy Quinn was advised and responded.
8-11-2013 7:46 PM. A person came to the BCSO to turn himself in on a Boone COunty warrant. Hipolito Pantaleon was arrested and taken to the BCJ.
8-10-2013 2:57 AM. Deputy Quinn was sent to the the Erickson curves on US 30 on a report of a vehicle on it's top. After a breif investigation the car was found to be unoccupied. The incident remains under investigation.
8-12-2013 12:30 PM. The Las Vegas Coronors office called and needed confirmation on a person they have in their morgue who they believe is wanted for bank robbery of the Boxholm Bank in 2005. A fingerprint was sent to the morgue and matched that of Darryl Dahms who had an active arrest warrant from Boone County for first degree robbery. The investigation is still continuing.
8-12-2013 2:51 PM. Greene County called to report they took a call of a high speed driver Eastbound from their county. The car was located in Boone County and stopped by Deputy Twigg and Chief Bailey around Ogden. The vehicle was not driving fast when it was stopped. After a brief investigation the vehicle and driver were allowed to leave.
8-12-2013 3:01 PM. Chief Deputy Lampe arrested Andrew Orey on an outstanding warrant from Boone County for probation revocation.
8-12-2013 5:52 PM. A person call from Beaver and advised the BCSO that a person with a metal detector was at the old school digging up the yard. Deputy Fangamn responded to the area and located the individual who stated that he had permission to be there, but Deputy Fangman also advised the person that he was in the wrong place. The person was directed to the right address.
8-12-2013 10:06 PM. A person called from the 500 blk of 170th st. to report her neighbors dogs are on her property and would not let leave for work. Deputy Fangman responded to the area, located the owners, who retrived their dogs and confined them to their own property.
8-13-2013 12:49 AM. Deputy Fanfman was on routine patrol in 220 blk of 229th pl. and located two individuals at the Western Edge Clothing store. After a breif investigation the two individuals were also the owners of the store.
8-13-2013 1:01 AM. Deputy Fangman while on patrol in the 2300 blk of 230th St. located an open door to a trailer and and a truck located at a business in the area. The area was checked and the doors secured.
8-13-2013 10:25 AM. The BCSO received a call of a an accident in the 1100 blk of US 30. Deputy Gray arrived and investigated the accident. There were no injuries and accident remains under investigation.
8-13-2013 11:45 AM. Deputy Gray arrested James Kinsey on a warrant from Boone County for probation violation.
8-13-2013 4:29 PM. The BCSO took a 911 call of an accident with some injuries just East of Airport Road. Deputy Gray, the BFD and ambulance responded to the accident. The injuries were minor, and the accident remains under investigation.
8-15-2013 6:05 AM. The StoryCounty Sheriff's Office called and advised they have a James Perry in custody on a Boone County warrant.
8-15-2013 2:49 PM. A person called to report some cattle out in the 1500 blk of H ave. Deputy Gray and Chief Bailey were able to get the cattle back into the fenced area.
8-14-2013 8:25 AM. A person called from Pilot Mound to report that her daughter was bitten by a dog. Deputy Gray began an investigation into the incident.
8-15-2013 1:03 PM. The BCSO assisted the Boone Police Department with a domestic situation in the 100 Blk of Ringold.
8-15-2013 4:39 PM. Deputy Gray responded to a report of a dog attack in the 300 blk of 335th st. The person advised the deputy that he was not bitten but was injured in the altercation. Deputy Gray began an investigation into the incident.
8-16-2013 5:02 AM. The BCSo assited the Boone Police Department with a domestic situation in the 800 blk of Keeler. BPD arrested one individual who was transported to the BCJ.
8-18-2013 9:28 PM. The BCSO assisted the Woodward Police Department with a search for walk away from the Woodward State Hospital.
8-18-2013 7:28 AM. The Greene COunty Sheriff called and asked for assistance from the BCSO to locate an individual who may have been involved in a personel injury accident. Deputy Pontius went to Pilot Mound to attempt to locate, but was not able to make contact. The case is still under investigation.
8-17-2013 10:46 PM. Sgt. Wingate investigated an accident at highway 17 and 210th St. There were no injuries.
8-17-2013 6:55 PM. A person called to report that her daughter was bitten by a dog and the dog escaped it's coller and left. Sgt. Wingate and Deputy Zuetenhorst assited the Madrid Police Department in searching for the dog. The dog was located in the 300 blk of 334th st. and taken to the humane society. The child was taken by ambulance to a hospital in Des Moines.
8-17-2013 6:36 PM. The Union Pacific called to report some juveniles on the tracks at 200th and Juneberry Rd. Deputies located the juveniles who were warned to stay off the bridge.
8-16-2013 10:09 PM. A person called the BCSO to report a vehicle that was doing a poor job of driving at United Community School. The vehicle was located and stopped at T ave. and US 30. After a brief investigation it was determined the driver may be under the influence and was taken to the BCJ for futher testing. Also located in the vehicle was a loaded handgun.
8-16-2013 8:03 PM. The Ames Police Department called and advised they have Brian Moran stopped and he is wanted out of Boone County for fail to appear. Deputy Twigg picked him up from the Ames Police and transported to the BCJ.
8-16-2013 7:30 PM. The BCSO conducted a special enforement project on the High Trestle Trail.
8-16-2013 3:19 PM. A person called to report possible animal neglect in the 1100 blk of XL av. Deputy Gray checked on the complaint and found the animals to well feed watered and had shelter.
8-19-2013 7:50 AM. A person called to report that she heard some noises on her property last night and wanted a deputy to check for the missing juvenile from Woodward. Deputy Pontius checked the area and found nothing.
8-19-2013 8:53 AM. The BCSO checked several areas in Southwestern Boone County for the missing juvenile but was unable to locate the subject at any of the addresses.
8-19-2013 6:28 PM. The BCSO received a 911 call from a person who was thrown from a horse along with her brother. She stated that both were injured and the other person could not get up. Deputy Fangman responded along with the Ogden First Responders.
8-19-2013 9:51 PM. The BCSO receiveda call of a car doing a poor job of driving at the 143 mm on US 30. Deputy Quinn located the vehicle and stopped it at AIport Road and Technology Drive. After a brief investigation the person driving the vehicle was not impaired and was allowed to leave.
8-19-2013 11:44 PM. A person called to report that his son called him and made some suicidal threats and may be headed to Ledges State Park. All officer in Boone County were made aware of the situation and began a search for the individual. Officer from the BCSO and the BPD eventually located the individual, and after a breif investigation Scott Kendall was arrested on a drug violation.
8-20-2013 10:00 AM. The Monona County Sheriff's office advised the BCSO they have a Jesus SIlva in custody on their charges, and he also wanted out of Boone County on a warrant. Monona County will advise when they are completed with their charges.
8-20-2013 2:02 PM. Deputy Pontius arrested John Wallace on a warrant from Boone County for probation revocation. He was transported to the BCJ.
8-20-2013 6:18 PM. A person called to report that she had been scammed by someone claiming to be from Windows Seven. She gave her credit card number and 15 minutes later $300.00 was missing from her account. The BCSO cautions people to never give your account number or any personel information to anyone over the phone.
8-21-2013 1:24 AM. Deputy Fangman was checking businesses in the 2100 blk of 232nd LN and discovered a vehicle at the business with all the doors open. After a brief investigation, the business was secured, and no one was found in the area.
8-21-2013 7:36 AM. A person called to report that he rolled his vehicle at 315th and Rose Road. He advised he was not injured but was trapped in his vehicle. After a few minutes, aperson stopped and got him out of the car. The driver Quinton Erickson had minor injuries and was taken to the hospital. The accident remains under investigation.
8-21-2013 11:44 PM. A person called to report a car accident with injuries at 190th and Hwy 17. Deputy Pontius responded along with the Iowa State Patrol. The ISP covered the accident. The injuries turned out to be minor.
8-21-2013 2:05 PM. The BCSO took several 911 calls of an accident at 5th and Main in the city of Boone. OFficers from the BCSO assited with the investigation.
8-21-2013 3:15 PM. A person called from Luther stating that her friend left the residence in Luther and was suicidel and may have taken an overdose of prescibed medication. An employee at Ledges State Park located the individual and Deputy Pontius went to the area in the park. Deputy Pontius requested an ambulance for the person, and he was later transferred to the hospital.
8-22-2013 9:36 AM. Deputy Pontius began an investigation into a stolen ATV from the 500 blk of T ave.
8-22-2013 11:42 AM. The BCSO received several calls of a semi rollover at HWY 17 and US 30 with some injuries. Deputies later determined there were no injuries. A semi loaded with seed corn turned too fast onto the Eastbound on ramp causing the load to shift which tipped the semi on it's side. Charges are pending.
8-26-2013 12:48 AM. Crawford County Sheriff's office called and advised they needed a person picked up on a Crawford County warrant for violation of parole. Kenneth Dersien was staying at the Econolodge in Boone. The Boone Police department and Sgt. Wingate from the BCSO arrested Dersien at the hotel and took him into custody and transported to the BCJ.
8-25-2013 9:16 PM. Deputy Zuetenhorst arrested Niomi Solis on an outstanding warrant from Boone County.
8-25-2013 1:37 PM. The BCSO took several reports of a head on accident at 230th and US 30. Deputy Gray and Deputy Hammer along with the BFD and the ambulance responded to the area. The accident was later downgraded to a property damage accident only. After the investigation one of the drivers was cited for improper lane change.
8-25-2013 2:22 AM. THe BCSO received a call of a vehicle on it's top in the 700 blk of 216th DR. Deputies located the vehicle and found Scott Good pinned inside the car. Mr. Good was freed from the vehicle and taken to Mercy medical in Des Moines. The acciden t remains under investigation, with charges pending.
8-24-2013 11:42 PM. The BCSO took a report of a man falling on the bike trail. Deputies responded to the area and located Jon Riebhoff and he transported to the hospital.
8-24-2013 7:33 PM. A person called to report that she had struck a back hoe at 210th and G ave, and there were injuries. A car driven by Danielle Titus struck a back hoe that was operated by Dennis Wisecup. Wisecup was flown from the scene to Des Moines. The accident remains under investigation.
8-24-2013 6:58 AM. A person called to report a person passed out behind the wheel of his car at Lincolnway and US 30. Deputies responded and found Michael Helmrichs. After a brief investigation Mr. Helmrichs was arrested for public intoxication.
8-23-2013 6:47 PM. The Hamilton County Sheriff Office received a call from a person in the 100 blk of R ave stating they wanted to hurt themselves. Deputies from the BCSO and the Hamoilton County Sheriff's Office responded and were able to talk the person to getting some assistance. No injuries were reported.
8-26-2013 9:57 PM. Deputies assisted by the Ogden Police Department attempted to locate an incomplete cell phone call with some screaming in the background. The call mapped to several areas in the county and in the city limits of Ogden. The investigation is continuing.
8-27-2013 11:36 AM. Deputy Pontius began an investigation into a burglary at a residence in the 1400 blk of 325th st. According to the owner he had one of his doors was left unlocked and some items were missing.
8-27-2013 10:19 PM. A person called to report a suspicous vehicle pulled into her driveway and then her mothers driveway in the 1800 blk of 250th st. Deputy Twigg responded and located some tracks left by the suspicous vehicle but did not locate the vehicle itself.
8-28-2013 7:24 PM. Communication Specialist for the BCSO noticed a suspicous person walking around the courthouse third floor before the courthouse was open. Sheriff Elsberry and Chief Deputy Lampe found the individual on the third floor questioned him and checked him out. The individual was there for court, and was told by officers the courthouse was not open until 8 AM.
8-28-2013 12:57 AM. A person called to report the theft of 10 to 12 bales of hay stolen from the 300 blk of 180th st.
8-28-2013 2:14 PM. A person called the BCSO to report that he was struck while walking in Ledges STate Park, and that his mothers car was also struck by the same person. Deputy Pontius began an investigation into a hit an d run. The person who struck the individual and car was known to the complainant. The investigation is continuing.
8-28-2013 8:15 PM. The BCSO took a call of a motorcycle/deer personel injury accident on E-26 and Leaf Road. Deputies from the BCSO responded along with Ogden First Responders and the Boone County AMbulance. A motorcycle driver by Mark Blanshan and his passenger Crystal Stansberry were Southbound on E-26 when the motorcycle they were on struck a deer. Blanshan was airlifted to Mercy, and Stansberry was taken to BCH. The accident remains under investigation.
8-29-2013 2:49 PM. The Chief of Police at Madrid took a report of a motorcycle accident with injuries just East of Madrid by the cemetary. Deputies from the BCSO responded, but the accident was later downgraded to a minor accident. The driver of the motorcycle Anthony Alatorre of Slater drove off the road and into the ditch, and received minor injuries and refused medical treatment.
8-29-2013 8:39 PM. Deputy Fangman arrested Stacy L Erwin-Miller on a warrant from Webster County.
8-29-2013 11:14 PM. The BCSO receeived several 911 calls of a vehicle Eastbond in the Westbound lanes of US 30 at the Lincolnway Exit. Deputies were out of position, and the call was given to Story County and Ames PD.
8-29-2013 12:20 AM. Deputy Fangman checked on a vehicle that was parked at the Honey Creek Golf Course. The facilty was checked for possible crimminal activity. Everything checked out.
8-29-2013 3:09 AM. Deputies responded to the 900 blk of 222nd drive for a domestic assualt. Upon further investigation Deputy Quinn arrested James Olszewski of Ankeny for domestic assualt.
