Boone County is home to a variety of invasive weeds that cause problems in agricultural fields and conservation land.
White Sweet Clover
Wild parsnip is a biennial plant that begins as a small rosette and sends up large yellow flowers and goes to seed the second year. It was brought over from Europe and Asia to be planted in gardens so the root could be eaten. The plant escaped the gardens and has become an invasive weed, growing wherever it can and spreading quickly once established.
The mission of Boone County is to be accountable to its citizens in providing innovative and high-quality
government services in an economical, fair, professional, and courteous manner to enhance and protect the
health, welfare, and safety of those who live and work in Boone County.
