How much does it cost to camp?

A
  • Tent Sites: $12/night
  • Electric sites Swede Point: $18/night (30 amp electric) and a $4 online service fee. 
  • Electric sites  Don Williams: $20/night (50 amp electric) and a $4 online service fee.

Can I reserve a campsite in advance?

A

Yes! Swede Point Campground and Don Williams Campground A and Bare online reservations only. Reservations can be made on MyCountyParks.com. These sites may be paid for with card only and these sites are 14 day maximum stay in a 28 day period. 

Don Williams Campground C sites are on a first come, first serve basis. You may come in advance and reserve your own spot. If you do, you must leave a camping unit on the site, such as a tent or camper.  Every night the site is reserved must be paid for. Remember to scan the QR code on your site post to pay for that site. There is no limit to the number of nights you can stay in Campground C.

Do you accept credit cards for campsites?

A

Card may be used to pay for an online reservable site at Swede Point Campground or Don Williams Campground A. 

Payment for a campsites in Don Williams Campground B and C must be made with cash or local check only.

How do I reserve a campsite at Don Williams?

A

Online Campgrounds A and B, and Swede Point must be reserved at MyCountyParks.com. Find the Boone County page, selected the dates you would like to stay, and pick your site!

First come, first served sites (Campground C):

  1. As you drive into Campground C, pick out a site without a camping unit already on it. 
  2. Once you have found your campsite, scan the QR code on that site's post.
  3. Follow the instructions on the website to reserve your space. 
  4. Once you paid and have your reciept, you may set up your site. 
  5. Enjoy your stay!

Do you have full hookups?

A

No, but we have have 50/30/110 amp hook ups for all electric sites at Don Williams and 30/110 service at Swede Point. There are many water hydrants around so you can fill your holding tank in your unit. Most campsites have water close enough to run a hose to them without having to hook up and drive to the water. Hoses cannot stay hooked up for long periods. There are dump stations located near each campground. It is free to dump if you are a registered camper.

How do I rent a cabin, the lodge, or the shelter house at Don Williams Recreation Area?

You can book these on the facilities tab at MyCountyParks.com. The cabins fill quickly in the summer months, so it is best to plan well in advance and reserve them early.

When can I reserve a shelter house or the cabins?

  • Year round and up to 2 years in advance! Go to mycountyparks.com to reserve today!

How long can I camp at the campgrounds?

A

Don Williams Campground:

  • Campground A  and B campsites are limited stay campsites. This means that a camping unit can only stay for 14 days within a 28 day period. 
  • Campground C campsites are all extended stay campsites (no maximum with in the season). 

Swede Point Campground:

  • All Swede Point campsites are limited stay campsites. Meaning that a camping unit can only stay for 14 days within a 28 day period. 

 

Limited stay sites are cumualitive, meaning that campers cannot jump from campsite to campsite within the 28 day period. Campers who would like to stay for extended periods should use an extend stay site. Extended stay sites do not count against the 14 day rule.
